This was the kind of game we've come to expect with DeMay.  Last time we got a huge lead, then had to come back to win.  This time, we got our huge lead, and cruised to a 25-5 win.  We only played 4 innings on offense because of the flip flop rule.  That means they got us out 12 times, and we scored 25 times.  We also didn't hit any homeruns.  Other highlights include:
  • A nice diving stop by 1st baseman Vig, who caught a grounder while diving across the line, then fliped to Matern who was covering first.
  • 2 double plays, a 5-4-3 and a less conventional 6-3-2
  • The Bubs went 4-4 by some miracle.
  • The other team was mad at the Bubs because 'he doesn't swing his hardest... that's all he's done since he started playing in this league.'  The Bubs, of course points out that they could just play in.
  • Jase tallied an outfield assist (8-2-5)
  • John had two chances onthe same play for an outfield assist, the first was just late, the second was just wide, so he couldn't add to his outfield assist total of 4. (I think)  That has to lead the league.
  • The Bubs missed a diving attempt to end the game.
  • Jeff pitched two innings, walked the first guyon three pitches that weren't close, then settled down.
  • Blonde Barry still hit to left field despite us putting a huge shift on.
